Week: 16 Date of teaching: Tuesday, December 20th, 2016 Period: 61st UNIT 10 When will Sports Day be? Lesson 3 (1 - 3) Objectives: By the end of this lesson, Ss will be able to: Pronounce sentences stress Develop listening and speaking skills. Languages focus: Vocabularies: Review Structures: review. Teaching aids: Teacher’s aids: pictures, cassette, tape, puppets, flashcards. Students’ aids: book, notebook, workbook. Teaching methods: Communicative method. Techniques: + Work in pairs + Work in groups, discuss. + Ask and answer. Procedures: Time Teacher’s Activities Students’ Activities 5’ 10’ 8’ 10’ 4’ Warm up. Play game slap the board. New lesson Listen and repeat. Put a large piece of paper with the sentences written on it on the board. Produce the words a few times. Ask Sts to listen to the tape and mime the sounds a few times. Play the record again and ask Sts to repeat each line. Ask two Sts to the front of the class. Have one repeat each line, the other mime its meaning. Ask Sts to practice saying and miming the chant in groups. Monitor the activity, check pronunciation and offer Sts help when necessary. Ask two Sts to recite and mime. Listen and correct mistakes, pay attention to the rhythm an the pronunciation. Listen and underline the stressed words. Then say the sentences aloud. Ask Sts to look at the task and introduce how to do the task. Set the sense: now you are going to listen to the tape and then underline the stressed words in each sentence, then say it aloud. Ask sts work in group. Then each member say the words in group aloud. Call some sts read the words aloud. Give feedback. Ask a few questions to check their comprehension. Ask the whole class to repeat each line of the recording in chorus to reinforce their pronunciation. Let’s chant. “What are they going to do?” Show the chant on the board. Order sts read sentences by sentences. Play recording to sts listen and mine. Play recording again to sts listen and mine the chant in chorus. Have students practice to read the chant in groups. And then some groups practice the chant in front of class. Other groups give comments. III. Consolidation. Ask sts produce words Reread the chant “What are they going to do?” IV. Homework. Sts play game Look at the paper with the sounds written on it on the board. Listen. Listen to the tape and mime the sounds. Listen and repeat. Do the model. Practice pronounce the sounds Scan the task. Mark the stress for each words in group. Exchange the answers. Correct and complete the sentences then say it aloud in groups. Set the scene: look at the picture, read the passage to take information and then tick the name of characters with correct activities- which they are going to do in the Sports Day. Monitor the activity, go around and offer Sts help when necessary. Ask each group give their answer and give comment together. Ask a few questions to check their comprehension. Write about Sports Day. Ask Sts to look at the task and introduce how to do the task. Set the sense: “look at the task 5. Now you are going to write a passage about Sport Day of your school by complete the blanks” Ask Sts to do the task individually in 5 minutes. Call on 2 students write about themselves on the board. The other gives comment. Ask Sts to exchange their answers in groups to do correction. Ask a few questions to check their comprehension. Project. Offer how to do the task. Set the scene: “you are going to draw three sports and talk about them in front of class” Free control the activities, go around to offer the help if necessary. Call on some sts report their result. Review all sentence from unit 6 to unit 10 Period 66: A1 – A5. I. Listen and tick. Teacher:- Ask pupils to open their Student’s book on Page 70 and look at the pictures. Tell them that they are going to listen to five different dialogues and tick the correct pictures. Help pupils to identify the situations in the pictures. Play the recording for pupils to listen. Play the recording again for pupils to listen and tick. Have pupils check answer with your partner. Replay to check the answers.: 1. c, 2.b Pupils:-Look at the pictures and say the information about the pictures. Listen carefully and tick. Check answer with your partner. II. Objectives:By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to: - Knowleg: By the end of this lesson, students will be able to practice all the knowledge they have learn. - Vocabulary: T recalls all the new words. Sts follows T’s instructions review - Sentence patterns: Review how to ask and answer about one’s friends. - Skills: Reading skill, listening skill, writing skill. - Attitude: Fun, friendly II. Teaching aids: textbook, cassette, lesson plan. III.Procedures: 1. Warm up: Teacher: - Have pupils sing song” What did you see at the zoo” Pupils: Listen and sing a song 2. New lesson: *PRESENTATION Period 67 (A1-A2) Activity 1: Read and listen to the story a. vocabulary: -T recalls all the new words. Sts follows T’s instructions. b. Set the scene: Have Ss look at the pictures and introduce five characters. Teacher describe the content of each picture. - This is the 1st of four cartoons about Miu the Cat and Chit the Mouse. To help Ss get the idea of the story, simply let them read and listen to this episode. In later episodes, the initial task will be more challenging. - Before Ss listen, ask them to look at the pics and ask them questions (e.g. A part from the cat and mouse, what can you see? A chair, a door, a window, etc.) - Play the tape and let the Ss read and listen. Activity 2: Answer the question Ss listen to the dialogue carefully and fill the words they hear into the gaps - 1st:Play the recording all the way through for Ss to listen while they are looking the pictures in their books - 2nd: play the recording for Ss to listen and number. - 3rd: play the recording for Ss to check their answers. - Have Ss trade their answers in pairs for correction - Ask some questions to ensure Ss’ comprehension of the listening text. Answers: Period68(A3-A6) Activity 3: Unscramble these words from the story - 1st reading: Ss read the sentences individually and check their prediction. - 2nd reading: Ss do the task (match the sentence with a appropriate respond.) - Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary - Have Ss trade the answers in pairs for correction - Call on some Ss to report their answers.
